Sponsored by Food Network and the Cooking Channel, the South Beach Wine and Food Festival is one of America’s biggest gourmet gatherings, drawing more than 65,000 attendees each year. The 2017 South Beach Wine and Food Festival takes place from February 22-26, and we at Dream South Beach want to make sure you don’t miss out. Here are our top five reasons to check out the festival:
- You can treat yourself to the best wine and food from around the world
The South Beach Wine and Food Festival focuses especially on local Florida seafood and Latin and Caribbean-inspired cuisine, but it also features dishes from around the world. Ditch your diet for the weekend and sample everything from lamb chops to oysters to the world’s best burgers to lavish desserts, all paired with the perfect wines, beers and champagnes.
- There are more than 80 mouth-watering events to choose from
From brunches to dinners to a Midnight breakfast, you’ll have your pick of fancy food for every meal of the day (and several meals in-between). Choose from more than 80 different events, including gourmet dinners, wine tastings, cooking demonstrations, seminars and more.
Check out the full event lineup and get event tickets at The South Beach Wine and Food Festival homepage. Or, to get last-minute tickets any day during the festival from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., visit the festival’s box office at 13th Street and Ocean Drive — just a three-minute walk from our property.
- Your favorite celebrity chefs will be there
The South Beach Wine and Food Festival always has a dazzling lineup of superstar chefs. Past festivals have seen events hosted by stars such as Rachael Ray, Anthony Bourdain, Emeril Lagasse, Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri and many more. Attend a dinner or late-night party with your favorite Food Network and Cooking Channel chefs or visit the Grand Tasting Village for cooking demonstrations and book signings. When they chefs are off the clock, you may even run into them at one of the other festival events.
- It’s for a good cause
Since the festival started in 2002, it has raised more than $24 million for Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management and the Southern Wine & Spirits Beverage Management Center. Funds from the festival have helped FIU create state-of-the-art facilities for the school’s hospitality students. The festival also provides opportunities for students to get hands-on training and mentorship from world-class chefs.
- You’ll love the beachside location
There’s no better place to wine and dine than next to the ocean. Come a few days before the festival to enjoy South Beach’s fantastic attractions. And after you’ve finished your last gourmet food tasting, stretch out on the beach and sleep off your food coma.
Don’t miss out on all the fantastic food and events this year’s South Beach Wine and Food Festival has to offer. And as you’re planning your visit, be sure to book your stay at Dream South Beach, located just a short walk from all the festivities.
