Dream Nashville: The Secret is Out!

Earlier this month, we kicked off the official opening of Dream Nashville, the newest addition to Dream Hotels. The hotel is at the epicenter of the dining, nightlife, and entertainment scene, all while paying homage to the celebrated history of Printer’s Alley.

At the heart of the evening was a performance by The Chainsmokers, who played their biggest hits during a private concert in one of our newest nightlife venues, Dirty Little Secret. And while they may have set the bar high for the rest of the weekend, the party certainly didn’t end there. Country’s favorite star, Luke Bryan, popped into our cocktail den, Snitch, the following evening for a freestyle performance, while EDM Anthems Live simultaneously amped up another crowd in Dirty Little Secret.

To help bring Dream Nashville to life, Lincoln created an installation at the grand entrance as a part of its second collaboration with us. They offered guests complimentary car service in the Lincoln Navigator and Lincoln Nautilus during their stays, packing a punch from the very beginning. ALLSAINTS also brought an edge to the celebration, serving as the hidden entrance to Dirty Little Secret in style with a selection of their famous biker jackets and handbags.

No Dream event would be complete without an appropriate feast, and our latest dining venture, Stateside Kitchen, made sure to keep that tradition alive. Highlighting menu items like our pressed sushi and The Chop, a 22-oz. bone-in Kurobuta pork chop, our premier restaurant assured guests they don’t have to leave the lobby to enjoy fine dining. If you’re in the mood for a lighter bite, Natura Café has fresh homemade breads and sweets from our very ownSuperfine Bakery. Our guests headed there for personalized coffees the morning after the opening extravaganza (and if you ask, our baristas may even put your face on a latte).

SPRING INTO SELF-CARE WITH DREAM

We know it’s a hard time to be your most motivated, but while you have the advantage of being home, create a new routine to make your workspace your happy place.

Start by regulating your morning routine. Whether it’s skincare related or getting in a workout, being at home shouldn’t stop you from being your best self.

  1. Start by streaming a workout you enjoy most. Our personal favorite is the MWH Method, also known as Melissa Wood Health. Her method focuses on building a better, stronger relationship with yourself. While we stream these at our Downtown property, they are also accessible in the comfort of your own home.
  2. On top of getting in some daily movement, we also recommend finding a quiet place in your home, where you can focus and block out all distractions of the outside world. We know being at home isn’t always as easy as sitting with your coworkers, so schedule some time to have virtual meetings or quick catchup calls, to acclimate and be as productive as possible.
  3. Once the clock hits 5pm, hop on a virtual happy hour with your friends. We may have to practice social distancing, but that doesn’t mean we have to stop socializing.
  4. Wrap up your day by trying meditation with apps such as Headspace, Calm, or Ten Percent. Even 10 minutes goes a long way and leaves your mind happier and healthier.
  5. And lastly, end your day with a good book. Here’s a list of “Best Books of 2020 (So Far)”.
  6. Get projects at home done that you’ve been pushing off, try making new recipes, call your loved ones and find ways to help others!

We are here to remind you that we are in this together, and will get out of this together. If travel is a necessity for you during these times, our doors remain open to you. Our New York properties Dream Midtown and Dream Downtown are stocked with Zigii Wellness bundles for your mental and physical well-being. To learn more, visit our offers page.

International Women’s Day: SFK EDITION

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we sat down with Queen of Confidence, Serena F**king Kerrigan. Take a look into her world and find out how she became the fearless, independent and self-sufficient woman we all look up to.

Describe yourself in three words

“Confident, Positive, Sensitive”

What’s your favorite city you’ve been to?

“This question gets me every time. It’s too hard to pick just one. I am planning to go to Tokyo in November and I literally can’t wait! If you’re reading this: DM me your recs!”

What do you love about NYC?

“The people, the energy, the creativity, the hustle… the open-mindedness and independence instilled in me since I was a young girl growing up on the Upper West Side. My mom told me she chose to immigrate to NYC because of the Frank Sinatra lyric, “if I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere” and it sounds about right.”

What piece of advice do you have for Gen Z young women?

“I cannot imagine being so young and having access to so much information and not be constantly comparing myself. My advice would be to stop focusing on others and focus what you can control instead: your own narrative.”

What are you most proud of?

“I’m most proud of the brand I have built, which, at the end of the day, is about making people happy. The sense of fulfillment and stability I feel from loving myself empowers me to go after my dream. That dream is to inspire others to feel the same way: to love themselves unapologetically and believe in their own power.”

Where does your biggest source of confidence come from?

“Myself. However, I am deeply indebted to my mother for always giving me the reassurance I need when I have bouts of insecurity.”

What does being an independent woman mean to you?

“Being financially independent and feeling genuinely fulfilled without a partner. I used to base my self worth on attention from men and I hated feeling the lack of control. I worked diligently through self-affirmations and therapy to learn how to love myself without depending on the admiration of others.”

Who is your biggest inspiration?

“My parents. My mother immigrated to the U.S. after becoming a doctor in Argentina and then became an established TV executive. My father paid his own way through university and became a successful screenwriter and film & TV director. Both of them pursued what they genuinely love doing and ultimately taught me to value my time over simply making money.”

How do you get yourself out of funk?

“I let myself feel it for the day (like really feel it), but I promise myself to move forward the following day. This means waking up, working out and getting back to work with a positive attitude. Making a to-do list always calms me down. I remind myself to always take things one step at a time.”

What would you tell your 15-year-old self?

“Everyone is insecure and will try to dim your light so they can feel better about themselves. Keep being you. (Also, you’re going to get into an amazing college and forget about that junior in high school who broke your heart!)”

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

“CEO SFK LFG!”

Lastly, what are your travel essentials?

“Can’t travel without my Silk Slip eye mask, my Cabeau travel pillow, CLEAR membership and dried mango slices. I prefer to take early bird flights so I can sleep and wake up fresh!”

With her Q&A’s being nearly addicting, and her confidence being contagious, trust us that SFK is someone you should have already been following. So, take our advice, and click here.

How Allison Schaper, Founder of Zigii, is bringing Wellness into Hotel Rooms

January has come and gone, and we just have one question for you: how are those New Year’s Resolutions coming along? If you’re like us, you started the new year determined to take better care of yourself, go to bed earlier, hit the gym more often, and eat less carbs. But let’s be honest: old habits die hard and we all need a little bit of help here and there.

Meet Zigii: your new wellness-obsessed best friend that makes traveling your new favorite activity. Dream Hotels partnered with Zigii to create custom bundles to offer our guests. Have a work-hard-play-harder mentality? Our Detox/Retox package was designed with you in mind, equipping you with everything you need to survive a hangover. Our Winter Wellness package at Dream Midtown is for those of us that need to take a minute to appreciate ourselves, because a little self-love goes a long way.  These (literal) bundles of joy are packed with everything you need, from superfood energy bars to CBD infused face masks. So, have that last drink, and don’t fear the cold, because with the help of Zigii, our newest offers are made specifically for the well-being of you.

We sat down CEO and Founder, Allison Schaper, to get an even further insight to the world she created.

When did you first create your brand?

“I was traveling 4 days a week, and my whole idea was ‘how can traveling be easier’? I always thought about how I’d love something shipped to my hotel that’s waiting for me after a long journey of traveling. The majority of people are also choosing their hotel stays based off their wellness amenities, and I believed this would help narrow down their options.”

What inspired you to create your brand?

“Passion for the wellness space came from my passion for the healthcare system. I was misdiagnosed for a problem I didn’t have, and while traveling all the time I was super dehydrated and feeling off-balance. There are so many things you can do to protect your body while traveling, and that’s how this came to fruition.”

What are your favorite products from each kit?

“In the Detox/Retox kit, I would say Athletic Greens (AKA travel health insurance) or Flyby. For the Winter Wellness kit, Yoga in a Cup and Superfat (which comes in both bundles) are my top picks.”

What trends are you liking most in the health and wellness world right now?

“The Power of Functional Mushrooms. I believe these are to 2020 as CBD was to 2019. You can find these in our Detox/Retox kit as a Golden Latte from the brand Four Sigmatic.”

How do you think the industry can improve?

CPG (consumer packaged goods) space as a whole. We need a stronger commitment to using higher quality ingredients and not using additives and preservatives. For example, protein bars are not required to list preservative and artificial additive ingredients that fall below a certain percentage threshold, and therefore are misrepresenting the actual composition their product. Overall, the best rule of thumb is the less ingredients the better, and using more real food. The entire CPG space also has a long way to go as far as sustainability of sourcing and packaging.Well-being shouldn’t stop with our bodies, and we’re keeping in mind our carbon footprint as we grow Zigii, and excited to do our part to help brands be more environmentally conscious.”
